We are a group of kama'aina healthcare professionals who have spent decades specializing in Elder and Geriatric care in the Adult Residential Care and Adult Foster Care industry in the State of Hawaii.

Our mission is to serve Care Home Providers and Seekers who need their services.

Meet the Team!


Meredith "Mimi" Kiefer

MSW, worked as a case manager at the Life Foundation for 5 years. Following that, she served as Director of Social Services at Arcadia Retirement Residence for 18 years until her retirement in 2017. As a Social Worker at Arcadia, she worked closely with Seniors and their families. Her experience includes all levels of care as well as short term rehab and discharge planning. She has extensive experience providing support for Seniors with Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and Mental Illness. Meredith enjoys running at Diamond Head, swimming, and snorkeling.


Jake Moore

M.B.A, M.S.N., APRN-Rx, has over twenty years of experience in nursing. He has worked in all settings across the Geriatric Continuum including hospital, nursing home, assisted living, outpatient clinic, home visits, and hospice. He currently works with The Queens Health System Geriatric Services Department providing primary care to homebound frail elderly. When not with his patients, Jake can often be found on the water in an outrigger canoe.


Margaret Salvador

RN-BC, CDONA, FACDONA, is a Registered Nurse who has worked in Hawaii for over 40 years. She is Board Certified in Gerontology and as a Director of Nursing Administration, Long Term Care. She was the Director of Nursing Services for Arcadia Retirement Residence from 1999 to 2016. She retired and now does volunteer work for Make-A-Wish Hawaii.


Karen Thorp

is a retired licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has had a long standing career in Long Term Care in Hawaii. Employed with a non-profit organization for over 40 years, Karen ensured care throughout the continuum for its seniors in independent living, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and for clients in Adult Day Care/Health and Home Health. In addition, she has had hands-on and consultation experience in therapeutic recreation. Although retired, Karen maintains her interest and commitment to the provision of care, safety and wellness for Hawaii’s kupuna.


Kevin Roddy

is the HIHI Web developer. He has been an IT professional for almost 35 years starting in Washington, DC. He ran off to Berkeley, California in 1976, and worked with Pacific Telephone as a cable splicer before answering his true calling as a public services and instruction librarian for 28 years in public and academic libraries. He has designed for the Web for the past 20 years. He now volunteers as a therapeutic musician at Queen's Medical Center and spends his free time in the Netherlands. Visit his Web site
